About the Program:
Todd
Van Wagner will speak on Activity of the Product.
He will identify all the activities it takes to make a product or
complete a service in any industry and classify them as value added or non-value
added.
Value Added Activities are defined by 3 questions:
1.
Customer care about it ?
2.
Changes the product ?
3.
Correct the 1st Time?
He
will take this information and create a "current state" value stream
map..
About our Speaker:
Mr.
Van Wagner is a graduate of
Purdue
University
and has worked in the automotive industry as well as aerospace.
He is trained in Honeywell's Lean Expert Certification program and
applies these tools with the people of Maxon.
Mr.
Van Wagner was born on a small farm in northern Indiana. He graduated from
Vincennes in Diesel Technology and worked as a mechanic on diesel cars, trucks
and tractors. He later graduated from
Purdue
University
and has worked in the automotive industry with Honda, Delco Remy and
Ford. He also worked in the aerospace industry with forgings for jet engines
and assemblies of large land based turbines. Todd is currently employed at
Maxon Corp where high heat products and large gas valves are manufactured.
He is trained in Honeywell's Lean Expert Certification program and
applies these tools with the people of Maxon.
