September 2009 Membership Meeting Wednesday, September 16, 2009
About the Program: ISO 17025 is the standard that covers Calibration Laboratories. Don has helped several companies become compliant to this standard and to avoid auditing problems. About our Speaker: Don Overman. Founder and President of Overman & Associates, LLC Don has over 15 years of ISO-related experience, is a certified Quality Manager and has held executive positions that involved Quality, Strategic Planning, Customer Support and Manufacturing. Don was a former Vice President of Customer Relations and Quality for a $750m leading computer manufacturer where he implemented ISO9001 from a non-existent quality system. Don is a IRCA certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2000 and a CQM. Post-Meeting Follow-up: Twenty Quality Professionals and Guests attended our September meeting. A reservation mix-up put us in half of our usual meeting room with a birthday party next door. The Sirloin Stockade covered the cost of our meals to compensate for the problem. Thanks Sirloin Stockade. Don's presentation was well received. He explained three keys to success: Traceability, Uncertainty, and Inter-Lab Comparison. Door prizes were won by Allen Fuller, Ann Bailey, Steve Zylka, Joe Stiles, Norma Fisher, and Jim Cree. Even though we allowed plenty of time, the
Fall Newsletter was delayed in the mail and delivered the day after the
meeting. We apologize if you missed the meeting because the Newsletter was
late. Our next meeting is October 21.
