About the Program: Quality
in Healthcare - Best Care Every Day Every Patient About our Speaker:
Claire Lee, RN,
MSN, CNAA, CPHQ has spent over 40 years in healthcare, 29 years as Chief
Nursing Officer. The past 9 years, she's served Cardinal Health System
as Administrative Director of Quality and Safety. Responsibilities
include directing activities related to clinical outcomes, process
improvement, environmental safety, patient safety, customer service, infection
control, security, accreditation/licensure, physician credentialing and ISO
9001 Certification.
She earned
her RN from St. Vincent Medical Center of the City of New York, a Bachelor's
in Nursing from Marian College, Indianapolis and a Master's in Nursing
Administration from Indiana University.
Claire
is certified in Nursing Administration from the
American Nurses' Association and in Healthcare Quality from the National
Association of Healthcare Quality. She is also an internal auditor for ISO
9001.
Pre-Clinic: Testing a Conjecture by Mike McDonald
Our pre-clinic speaker will be Michael McDonald. He
is a Certified Quality Engineer and a Registered Professional Engineer, from
McDonald and Associates. He will present a case study and a statistical
method used to test a theory. Mr. McDonald, a past Section
Chair and Treasurer, is the Membership Chair of Section 904.
Post Meeting Follow-up: Twenty-one Quality Professionals attended September's Meeting to hear Clair Lee describe the Quality System at Ball Hospital. Doorprizes were won by Jim Cree (Quality Managers
Handbook), Tony Johnson (3M Tape & Dispenser), Vernon Chapman (3M Post-it
(TM) Notes, and Henry Peresie (Downloadable CD from Quality America).
