About the Program:  DFSS Overview – Design for Six Sigma Tools

To answer the question:  “What is Design for Six Sigma (DFSS)?”  we will examine the questions:  
“How is DFSS related to Design for X (DFX)?”,  
“How is DFSS related to Six Sigma?”,  
“What is the DFSS methodology?”,  
“What tools are typically used?”

About our Speaker:
Paul Baker is certified by the American Society for Quality (ASQ) as a Quality Engineer (CQE) and Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB).  He is currently a Senior Member, Technical Staff at Thomson, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN.  Paul has worked for Thomson and its predecessor companies for almost thirty years in a variety of areas, including:  process development, engineering management, manufacturing engineering, operations quality and product quality assurance.  Paul holds a B.S. degree in biochemistry from Albright College in Reading, PA and an M.S. degree in chemical engineering from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA.

 
Pre-Clinic: Literacy in the Workplace – Positive Steps Toward a Well Trained Workforce

Is workforce literacy a problem and how does it impact our ability, as quality professionals, to instruct and train the workforce?  We will look at several tools to ensure a well trained workforce.

Post-Meeting Follow-up:

Twenty-three Quality Professionals attended the November meeting to hear Paul Baker's concise review of DFSS concepts.
Bill Haas and others were Door Prize Winners.
