7:30 PM
"Layered Audits"
Ray Lorenz
Plant Manager, 3M, Hartford City

About the Program:
Due to a death in the family, we have rescheduled Mike Oxley's talk on Layered Audits until January.  We are fortunate to find an excellent alternate on very short notice.  Ray Lorenz  will present 3M approach to Layered Audits.  3M is still young in it pursuit of Lean and Ray's presentation will not fill the entire hour.  We hope that Ray's comments will lead to a group discussion of how Layered Audits, by what ever name, are practiced at the companies represented at the meeting.

About our Speaker:
Ray Lorenz is the Plant Manager of the 3M plant in Hartford City.  Ray is a native of Philadelphia, and received his engineering degree from Princeton University.  Upon graduation Ray joined Gore, the makers of Gortex fabrics.  When the Gore facility was purchased by 3M, Ray became a 3Mer.  He moved from Wisconsin to Hartford City slightly over a year ago.  Ray is a strong proponent of Lean Six-Sigma and champions Layered Process Audits in the Hartford City Plant.
