About the Program: Six Sigma is new to City government. Fort Wayne may be the first City in the country to implement Six Sigma. Mayor Richard wanted to capitalize on the many benefits it could bring to Fort Wayne government. Learn more on Fort Wayne's Six Sigma Web Page
About our Speaker: He began his career with General Motors in 1960 and through mid 1967 was assigned to the Reliability Engineering and Quality operations. During this time he introduced and implemented process and quality improvements in the final automobile assembly, engine and transmission manufacturing and assembly functions. In 1967 he joined the General Electric Aircraft Engine Division. His manufacturing, quality and production control assignments throughout the division presented many opportunities for process and quality improvements and learning. In 1981 he joined the General Electric Specialty Motors operation as Quality Manager. From 1981 until retirement in mid 1999 he successfully lead the ISO certification of Motors plants thorough out the World. In 1994 he became a Master Black Belt and a Certified Master Black Belt in 1995. Following His retirement he joined the Mayor of Fort Wayne, Graham Richard, in the Mayor’s Six Sigma City initiative, and is currently the Master Black Belt for the City of Fort Wayne.
