About the Program:
The presentation is a basic discussion
of why a manufacturer should consider using automated inspection technology.
It specifically addresses the pharmaceutical industry in response to the
FDA's relatively new guidelines for "Process Analytical Technology".
About our Speaker:
Mollie Brown is Site QA Representative
and Internal Auditor at the Eli Lilly and Company Technological Center in
Indianapolis. She has 30 years experience in Quality and Technical Support
Services, 25 years in automotive and five years in pharmaceuticals. Mollie
is an ASQ Region 9 Deputy Regional Director and ASQ Inspection Division Chair.
She holds five ASQ Certifications: CQT, CQE, CQA, CRE, CQMgr. Mollie
earned a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, Barton College; and
Associate of Applied Science, Industrial Management, Wilson County Technical
Institute.
Pre-Clinic: The Fall 2006 Pre-clinics
were a 3-part series on the Define, Measure, and Analyze
steps in the Six-Sigma DMAIC process. The January Pre-clinic was
Improve. This month we conclude with Control.
Post Meeting Follow-up:
Nineteen (19) Quality Professionals attended the March Meeting.
Paul Baker won the Door Prize - The Quality Technicians Handbook donated by
Quality America
Mollie Brown gave a brief program on "The Basics of ASQ Certification"
and made a compelling case for seeking certification. Mollie's main topic
was "Automated Inspection". She explained how automated
inspection is 1000's of years old - used in farming since pre-history. She
related the benefits of automatic inspection or continuous monitoring over
sampling and testing.
