About our Speaker:
Lestie Pennell Carey, Specialist in Organizational
Change
Leads management and employees in co-designing, planning, and implementing
organizational change in manufacturing, service, medical, and education
industries to reduce variation in all process and to increase control of process
interaction
Vehicle of change includes tools from TQM, Continual Improvement, ISO
9000, QS 9000, TS 16949, 5S, formal problem solving, statistical process
control, self-directed teams, FMEA’s, business plans, train trainers, and
workplace training.
Consultant/Trainer
- Quality issues – ISO 9001:2000, QS 9000, and TS 16949 implementation
and maintenance to reduce paperwork, cycle times, and the number of times
that the same paper is "touched", ISO Lead and Internal Auditor,
formal problem solving, PFMEA, coordinate a supplier quality manual for
automotive OEM, authority and responsibility alignment, resource planning
and allocation
- Teach American Society for Quality public classes and work with their
private clients regarding root cause analysis/problem solving, ISO 9000
(TS16949) implementation/auditing, and D/PFMEA’s
- Develop strategies for implementation of change, selection of training
context, and layout of content based on brain research to enhance learning
- Communication – personal responsibility for effective communication,
tools to improve communication skills, teaming, managing and leadership
skills/functions
- Organization Development – business planning, decision making, roles
and responsibilities, how to implement and maintain change, how to measure
success, management skills and planning
- Examples of system implementations include QS and ISO systems in twenty
companies, formal problem solving as a vehicle to organizational change and
continuous improvement with small "mom and pop" companies to large
corporations
- Honda specific projects include:
- Develop and implement Quality Technical Center (formal problem
solving)
- Develop and implement Early Warning System regarding critical
suppliers for Purchasing
- Develop and implement one quality manual for North American
facilities
