"Layered Audits"
Mike Oxley

QC Manager, BorgWarner, Muncie

About the Program:
With increased global competition, US manufacturers are relentlessly looking for new ways to improve quality and productivity and to lower cost.  One quality tool - originally launched as a quality improvement initiative - can be used to do all three.
A layered process audit (LPA) goes beyond inspection of work by actually transforming a company's culture into one that embraces continuous improvement.

Read more about LPA in November 2007 Quality Progress and attend the January meeting to meet the author.

About our Speaker:
Michael R. Oxley is a quality manager at BorgWarner in Muncie, IN.  He earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.  He is a member of ASQ and a Certified Quality Systems Auditor.  Mike is co-author of an article entitled Turbocharging Your Preventative Action System that appears in the November 2007 issue of Quality Progress magazine.
