About the Program:
Many quality assurance principles are
applicable to all production environments, regardless of industry. This
presentation will focus on how Ontario Systems applies these principles to
software development.
Ontario Systems is built on a unique
corporate culture, which impacts the quality assurance process. This
presentation also will include a brief overview of Ontario Systems’ history,
business niche and corporate philosophy.
About our Speakers:
Craig Ayers, Manager,
Quality Assurance, Ontario Systems
Craig
Ayers manages Ontario Systems’ Quality Assurance group. This group includes
systems analysts, quality control analysts and media specialists who work
directly with over 100 software developers. The team is responsible for
development processes and all software testing, as well as project design and
documentation before it is released to the client.
Ayers
began employment with Ontario Systems in 1990 as a software
designer/programmer. In 1998, he assumed management responsibilities for the
newly formed Quality Assurance group.
Ayers
holds an M.S. in Computer Science and a B.S. in Industrial Technology, both
from Ball State University. He earned the Certified Software Quality Analyst
designation from the Quality Assurance Institute in Orlando, Fla.
Kim Stanley, Supervisor,
Quality Control, Ontario Systems
Kim
Stanley is a supervisor in Ontario Systems’ Quality Control group. Her group
is responsible for testing new software enhancements and ensuring the core
software functionality is not compromised. Her team designs automated test
scripts and works closely with software developers and technical writers on
project design and documentation.
Stanley
began her career in information technology in 1989 with Marsh Supermarkets as
a systems support trainer. In 1995, she joined Ontario Systems as a systems
consultant in the Client Services group. She began her current assignment in
1999.
Stanley
earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior and Environmental Design from Ball
State University. Currently, she is pursuing an M.S. in Information and
Communication Sciences at Ball State University. Stanley earned the Certified
Software Test Engineer designation from the Quality Assurance Institute in
Orlando, Fla.

Post-Meeting Follow-up:
Thirty members and guests attend our January
meeting. Past-Chair Dr. Jim Walters brought six students from his BSU
management class. Randy Hartman won the
book from Quality America. Jennifer Csicatha (BSU student) won the
dinner door prize. Don Russell, who did not attend, got picked for the
$100 attendance door prize.
