February 2008 Membership Meeting Wednesday, February 20, 2008
About the Program: Six years later, has Six Sigma run it's course at 3M or is it still as vital as in years past. Or is Six Sigma evolving. Attend February's meeting and Mark Ratzlaff will answer these questions. About our Speaker: Mark Ratzlaff, born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, received a BA in Physics from Bethel University (St. Paul, MN) and BS Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis, MN) in 1997. Mark started his 3M career in 1994 as a part time technical aide while going to school. In January 1998 Mark started full time with 3M as a Process Engineer in Menomonie, WI with the Personal Care and Related Products Division. Mark has spent 10 years with this division, which primarily makes fastening components for the disposable diaper industry, holding a variety of positions of increased responsibility including Manufacturing Engineer, Manufacturing Technology Development Engineer, and General Supervisor. In addition to working in the Menomonie, WI and St. Paul, MN facilities, Mark also spent one year on an international assignment in Gorseinon, Wales, UK. Mark has recently transitioned (Sept 2007) into a new role as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in Hartford City, IN with Industrial Tape and Adhesives Division. Mark currently resides in Muncie, IN with his wife and 2 girls, aged 6 and 8. He enjoys farming, construction, and being outside.
