SECUREKEY:
Product Development using DFSS

Ray Balisnomo
John Finley
Mike Holman
Ingersoll Rand Corporation

About the Program:
The presenters will discuss how using DFSS accelerated the development of SECUREKEY, a new locking mechanism for Schlage.
This revolutionary new concept is a departure from the old pin and tumbler approach to lock cylinders.  It also allows for re-keying the lock without removing the lock from the door or dis-assembling the lock.
The presentation will outline the design and development process and also a demonstration of the product by Mike Holman, Product Manager.

Pre-Clinic:

Parking at Ball State will be somewhat of an issue.

Red Lots: Restriction is not lifted until 7:00 p.m. However, there
are two garages with metered parking (57 Emens and 58 McKinley) which are in
close walking distance. The Students Center (59) is a bit further. All of
these garages accept credit cards and parking is only $1.00 per hour. Since,
the restriction is lifted at 7:00 p.m., the parking would only be $2.00.

Green and Yellow Lots: Restriction is lifted at 5:00 p.m. so those
who want to walk a bit further could park for free.

They might want to plan to arrive a few minutes early in case it happens to
be a busy day and they have to hunt for a spot. But usually this would not
be an issue if they arrive by 6:00 since night classes don't start until 6:30.
