About the Program:
An interactive introduction to problem
solving methods using the methods used to develop TOPS (Team Oriented Problem
Solving) for Ford. A discussion of the different approaches needed for acute and
chronic problems. Case studies will be presented, analyzed, and basic techniques
for identifying root cause detailed. Common problems associated with the problem
solving process will also be discussed along with effective countermeasures.
About our Speaker:
John has over 25 years experience in the quality
professions ranging from inspection to management. He is currently the Director
of Quality for Impact Forge, Inc., the largest privately held steel forge in the
U.S.A. John is an ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Quality Engineer, Reliability
Engineer, Quality Auditor and Quality Technician. A Senior Member of ASQ, John
has served as Chairman of Section 0904 (1991-92) and Vice-Chairman of Section
0920. John is also a Six Sigma Black Belt and a Certified Trainer in Problem
Solving methods.
Post-Meeting Follow-up: Twenty-one
members and guest attended our April Meeting. Dr. Jim Walters won the
Quality Technicians Handbook, Vicki Walburn won the 3M Tape doorprize and Steve
Harmeyer won the 3M Post-it Notes. Bill Haas was the winner of the free
meal. Don Russell won the $100 attendance jackpot.
